The Birth of Ashra
Sharash opened his eyes, melted gold and fiery red. The sun was already burning in the sky but Sharash just wanted to turn on the other side and sleep some more. He was just about to do that when he felt the tension in the air. He was still young, very young-just 50, a youngster, but he could feel things better than the rest of the dragons his age, even those older then him.
He was intrigued so he slowly got up. All the adults had gathered at the lair of Arna. So he went there too. Making his way in the front he saw it: a beautiful blue and green egg. Arna took a deep breath and blew over the egg. The most beautiful fire he had ever seen; it had all the colours of the rainbow. After she stopped the eggs colour started to change becoming transparent from the bottom up. They all looked so worried as the egg grew more and more transparent and nothing else happened.
He too stared at the egg, holding his breath, not daring to blink. On Arnas face a shadow of fear appeared
And then it happened. The egg cracked open and a little dragon got out. Except for one single star shaped piece, the rest of the shell turned into diamonds. That one piece was placed by Arna on the new dragons forehead as she whispered: Ashra.
The new born Ashra looked up at the other dragons. She looked them straight in the eyes and she showed no fear.
She then looked at Sharash, blinking curiously and as Sharash too was approaching she suddenly hit him with a ball of fire.
The adults smiled amused as Sharash got up still baffled, but then they roared all at once, throwing columns of fire into the sky for the whole world to know: a new dragon had been born.
